W508 Walkman®

Today Sony Ericsson announced for us one stylish clamshell. W508 – new mid-range Walkman® clamshell with small external screen and special music keys on the flip. W508 aka Brittany is replacement of clamshell W380.
The main feature of W508 is, of cource, Style-Up™ covers. W508 has two main colours (Metal Grey and Poetic White) and 8 special Style-Up™ covers. Later will be available even more covers.
If you buy Metal Grey colour you will got one extra Style-Up™ cover: Mysterious Graffiti, Forest Green, Architectural Purple or Sunny Orange.
For Poetic White also will be available one extra Style-Up™ cover: Radial Blue, Splashed Art, Midnight Summer or Street Hip-hop. As for me, the best cover is Splashed Art.
Sony Ericsson W508 is mid-range clamshell, so it has standart features for mid-range phones of 2009 year: 3.2-Mp camera, 2.2″ 240×320 pixels TFT screen, Walkman player 3.0, SenseMe™, TrackID™, Shake control and Gesture control. Phone also has 128×36 pixels extrenal OLED-screen (1.1 inches) and internal memory up to 100MB.
W508 has pretty small sizes for clamshell: 93.5 x 50 x 14 mm with weight only 98 grams. In the box you will find headset HPM-68, 1GB Memory Stick M2™ and one extra Style-Up™ cover.
Walkman™ clamshell W508 will be available in selected markets from Q2 2009.

Now THIS looks like the classic W300 for 2009! Looks way better than the W380. I hope it is as popular as the W300 of 2006, which I think wasn’t really matched by its W380 successor. A phone has to appeal to you on first glance, and this definitely did!!
