Say hello to the Hikaru

You’re right! It’s Hikaru. As you know from this image, Hikaru will be awesome Walkman-branded slider phone with metal housing. Hikaru is high-end device and it got high-end features: 2.6? screen, 8-Mp camera, 8 GB memory, Walkman player 4.0, 3.5mm jack, stereo speakers and special music keys on the right side. This phone will be announced on the 15th of February (MWC 2009) and release will be in the end of Q2. I’am waiting for your comments.

    This looks amazing, especially the 2.6″ screen, lets just hope they dont ruin it by using Windows mobile or some crappy UIQ touch screen. Keep it with the normal S.E. operating system and this is a winner !!

    i think SE should release a candy bar of hikary not a slide and it looks to me a plastic not high quality built.similar built w595 but with a high spec. :!: :!: :?:

    to me, hikaru looks like w910 with metal housing. one thing I consider is that every sliding phone is sluggish unlike candybar one. i’m definitely want to see the live pics as it mentioned with metal housing. and i also wonder if this hikaru using Xenon flash or what. as I just tried the SE C905 taking incredible pictures with its Xenon Flash…. salute….

    Is the 8 gb internal or a M2 card? 16 gb would have been good, 8 gb isn’t enough SE!!!!
    Is it touch screen? I don’t like touch screens, my W960 was very slow :(
    Price? 500 euros?

    SE think that WALKMAN phones can play only music and cameraphone is good only to shoot photo…
    no xeno for walkman,no jack for cybershot
    and touch only for business…

    this hikaru is BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING
    he seem awesome but only design,it can’t beat N95 of 2005

    Moving on, specs great, BUT design, poor very lack luster in many ways no inovation at all just a copy and pate look, every1 bases there phone on looks unfortuantley this isnt a head turner :(

    Where is s.th. like the Nokia 5800 by SonyEricsson?? SE needs a touchscreen device with great design, good technical features and for a fair price, f.e. with Android OS. Such a device would be a bestseller for this lame duck called SonyEricsson. They could also take this new touchscreen walkman by Sony and build in there telephone / SMS functions, it would be a perfect phone with this “want to have” feeling, that only the Apple iPhone and now the Palm Pre could create so far….

    S.E. is always best for it’s quallity, specially all those walkmen series. But one thing is always missing and that is a 3.5 mm jack to listen music. Why there is no 3.5 mm jack like Nokia????????? Sony Ericsson should realese such a walkman phone with a 3.5 mm jack + 5/8 MPX camera with XENON Flash + QVGA Display + 8/16 GB Memory + good battery + should under 100 gm and not so dick. Hope very much that Hikaru will fulfill all these cryteria. Please Sony Ericsson please…………………. :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

    When it comes to mobile phone, Sony Ericsson is the leader in terms of design, style, functions and size. They should be NUMBER ONE instead of competitor (Nokia). Really hope to see a powerful walkman phone with cybershot functions all integrated into one. I can’t wait to see this phone. It would be great if its touchscreen. Currently, I’ waiting for S.E. to launch something really great. :D

    GSMArena published all features on the article on their web site. listen the man who wrote it a few posts before. why no one listen to him.
    they leaked it all, and you may see that u are wrong about the memory.

    i saw the phone a month ago, that’s it. i told you. i don’t care you believe it or not. you’ll see the official pics and specs after a few days on MWC and you’ll know i was right.

    i think what gsmarena wrote on their site is enough – 8gb card, gps, wi-fi, 8mp, qvga video, kickstand, non-smart OS, walkman 4.0, 3.5 jack, 2.6 screen, slider
