Sony Ericsson unveiled Idou

Sony Ericsson today unveiled Idou – it’s new high-end device, which run a Symbian Foundation operating system. Idou has 12.1-Megapixel camera, xenon flash and a large 16:9 touch-screen.

Currently Idou has no model name. Idou will be available in selected markets from the second half of 2009 year.

    Very nice looking phone… :mrgreen:
    I don’t really like all the buttons on the side because I always press them accidentally when I take my current phone (HTC Touch) out of my pocket.

    The resolution NOT the size. Actually, it looks more than 3″ and I hope. The resolution should be 854×480 just like Japanese SE phones.

    This phone really needs big and powerful speakers … SE PLEASE ;-( !!!!

    The video recording should be more than VGA, because VGA is going to be outdated after a while.

    I don’t think this is an Xperia
    Xperia is an all around experience, not a 12.1MP camera. I think this will be Cyber-shot series.

    I think Xperia successor will be announced later today.

    In my opinion, this phone should have
    -More than VGA video recording ( 720P or even Full Hd, although Full HD is impossible now ).
    -Stereo speakers or Quad speakers. It does not matter .. IT SHOULD BE LOUD!. Some Japanese SE phones have more than stereo speakers and all of them are very loud as I know, unlike our phones which most of them have bad speakers, even my W595 could be better ;-(
    -3.5mm port IS IMPORTANT. Even low-end and non-music nokias have 3.5mm port nowadays. W995 should not be the only phone.

    SONY ERICSSON PLEASE DO IT,
    FOR YOUR SAKE
    AND FOR YOUR HOPELESS FANS’ SAKE.

    Very very very very very very awesome, finally SE made a phone to be proud of. SE is making 12.1 MP phones, nokia is still on the 5 MP phones?????? The video must be at least D1 to be good. :o

    This is only concept with Symbian S60 5th edition and 8,1 Mpix. Real phone will be announced in Q2 2009. ;-(

    Nooooo, Symbian is terrible. It doereen wallpaper !! This not support flash wallpapers (.swf) as full screen.

    they release the xperia 8 month after it presentation at mwc 2008 without any upgrade and with a ridiculous price tag. :oops:

    does any one know how to let SE know our suggestions??? :lol: so far the info i gather is it has a 3.5″ screen,16million colours, using micros SD card and too bad,it doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack~~swt~~ really hope it will have a high resolution video rec and divX files support.

    Love this phone…waiting for it to come out since late last year. But i just hope that it will come in T-mobile US, since they have a thing with Sony phones. not just that so that i can get 3G on that phone, the t-mobile idiots have to have a stop special frequency for their 3G and Sony are one of the few companies putting the t-mobile 3G frequency on their phones
