To the internet were leaked many images and now promo-videos of two new Sony Ericsson phones-sistes Susan and Sunny. As you know Susan is compact waterproof stick-phone with 5.0 megapixel camera and LED flash. Sunny is basically same device just in form-factor slider and with a large display. Enjoy videos!

P.S. Susan and Sunny are just codenames, not final commercial names.

You call this a large display? Maybe in terms of Sony Ericsson outdated phones.

  2. Max says:

I mean, Sunny’s large display compared to Susan’s display.

  3. Martin says:

At least they look different from the other SE phones…

  4. Zero says:

You could have said “slightly larger” instead of “large”. They just look like another crappy 2.2-2.4″ QVGA screens. The market does not need this in 2009.

Waterproof does not server the purpose as a single feature. Sony Ericsson should have implemented this in high-end phones in order to create a new standard, not just a single feature in outdated phones while the market needs all-in-one devices as well as some innovative things. SE should play in a different role than mid-range market and I will only return to SE when they start to bring “real features and specifications” in addition to some differentiation.

    What is your problem-zero?

  6. Zero says:

What is Sony Ericsson’s problem? That’s the question. They should follow the market trends already or do something better.

I’ve been a SE fan since T68i, but the above 2 phones do not impress in the least bit.

The keypads remind me way too much of the Nokia Classic series for comfort.

in fact I agree with you, Zero, too much left to lose customers and Samsung and LG to steal their customers-are too slow and have bad PR managers

    Misterious arc design…

I do not actually like smart phones.

Smart phones are not only thing that the market needs. I would be glad to see more feature phones with interesting specifications such as high-resolution ( WVGA & FWVGA ) AMMOLED big screens, 8MP, WVGA Video recording…etc.

Smasung is already doing an acceptable effort in providing phones like Jet with its AMOLED WVGA display, D1 video recording, 3.5mm audio jack…etc.

I just can tolerate those more outdated phones with small screens and many other outdated features.

I almost sure that those phones will have QVGA screens, QVGA video recording, no Wi-Fi, no 3.5mm audio jack ……sigh

    Zero,
Now we know that this wasn’t all about being waterproof. True, the displays are 2.2 and 2.6 (not 2.4) inches. But not everyone need or want a 3-5 inch display with touch screen (or full qwerty, or …).

Instead these two phones have a very good 5MP camera, among the best 5MP; they are Wi-Fi and DLNA certified (you will not find many if any 5MP Wi-Fi phones in this price range, with A-GPS). On the audio/voice side they have: Clear voice & Noise Shield, as well as being HD Voice ready i.e. AMR-WB. That is, very good sound and voice. As we know, for many people that is important.

Both phones are part of Sony Ericsson’s GreenHeart initiative, adding more phones and accessories to that can only be good.

I don’t why people comment on early, leaked, information, and why they think that their needs are universal.
