Update On Gingerbread for Xperia™ X10

Sony Ericsson announced back in March that they were working on a gingerbread update for the Xperia™ X10. This update to Android 2.3.3 is slated to be available in August and will be released for generic versions of the X10.“Even if there will be some operator kits getting this upgrade, as said before – some of you will not be able to upgrade your customized version of XperiaTM X10″ as stated by Rikard Skogberg. A quick rundown of what is to be included in the update follows below:

1. Retains Camera UI as in the Éclair version.
2. Facebook inside Xperia™
3. Homescreen Overview gesture
4. Wi-Fi & USB tethering
5. App storage on SD-card
6. Horizontal app tray
7. Media experience widgets
8. Integrated equalizer in Music Player
9. Ability to download Apps that require 2.2 or 2.3 from the Android Market
