Neo V with Gingerbread 2.3.4
Sony Ericsson announced today that it will update all 2011 Xperia™ models to Gingerbread 2.3.4 in October. This update will start to roll out in select markets in October. Update will be in phased as with previous one’s. Once available owners will get a notification in phone instructing them to instantaneously download the software over the air via 3G or WiFi. The update can also be done through Sony Ericsson’s PC Companion software.

  1. Google Talk with Video Chat for smartphones with front-facing cameras
  2. Updated Facebook inside Xperia™ functionality for enhanced like, share and discover abilities.
  3. Xperia™ smartphones introducing world’s first 3D sweep panorama functionality powered by Sony.
  4. The software upgrade will enable consumers to turn their Xperia™ smartphone into a mini-mobile PC by connecting USB peripherals (mouse, keyboard or game controller) to Sony Ericsson LiveDock™ multimedia station. Connect the smartphone to a TV via HDMI to get a big screen experience.
  5. Swipe text input – text input by swiping the finger from one letter to the next.
  6. Screen capture – allows the user to share a screen grab from anywhere in the phone.

Today Sony Ericsson announce it’s new mobile phone called Live with Walkman™ previously known as WT19i. You can call the new Live with Walkman™ a Walkman-based version of Xperia™ mini. Live with Walkman™ basically have the same features but it is more thick than Xperia™ mini and provide more music features inlude Walkman™ player and stereospeakers as well as the new xLoud™ technology, TrackID™ etc.

The new phone features 3.2″ 16M colour 320×480 pixels multi-touch TFT screen, a 5.0 megapixel camera with autofocus and 720p video recording and a front-facing camera for Skype video calling.

The new Live with Walkman™ is based on 1 GHz processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform (probably version 2.3.4 after release). All these features are packed in 14.2 mm slim body with weight about 115 gramms. Sony Ericsson WT19i will be released in selected markets in Q4, 2011 in two nice colours: Black and White.

As you may know, Xperia™ arc previously known as Anzu, is powerfully slim handset which runs Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and features features 4.2? multi-touch 854×480 pixels capacitive touchscreen, a 8.1 megapixel camera with AF and Exmor R technology, 3.5mm audio jack and HDMI-out. All these features are packed in 8.8 mm slim body. Xperia™ arc already available in Misty Silver and Midnight Blue colours.

Sony Ericsson released the new Home Launcher for it’s Xperia™ smartphones. As you can see the new Home Launcher includes some new features like a button on the bottom right that allows you to uninstall apps directly.
