Sony Corp. doesn’t skip any chance to impress its customers. Just after the official release of Android KitKat v4.4 few days back, Sony declares the OS updates on its few devices.
Sony has announced two updates – a Jelly Bean v4.3 update and the recently launched KitKat v4.4 update for a list of Xperia devices. Firstly, Sony would offer the 4.3 Jelly Bean update to Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia SP, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 the next month.
Sony also stated that this December it would it would skip the 4.2 update and would offer directly the 4.3 to three models namely Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V. As the OS update roll out is carried in a sequential manner according to different zones, users may have to wait accordingly to receive the update.
Similarly, not defining any timeline, Sony has also declared the 4.4 KitKat update to some of its elite devices like Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z Ultra and the Xperia Z1. Here are some of the features that you would enjoy with these updates.
Upgraded features with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
Keyboard and input: The Jelly Bean 4.3 offers an advanced algorithm for text-typing and making it much easier. The update will also enhance the game-pad.
Dial Pad: The update offers an auto-complete feature which will more accurately predict the phone numbers in your contact list. You can enable or disable it by moving in the settings.
Language support: The update offers added languages. Just check it out as you may get your local language on your device.
Settings: The update introduces a new tab that will let users check whether aps are disabled or not.
Location: This feature is pretty cool and will let you check if you have any hot-spots around even without turning on your Wi-Fi.
Network: With this feature data transfers through your phone will be done using Bluetooth Smart (Lox Energy) and that too by consuming less juice from the battery.

Enhanced Caller ID: An improved caller-id which will search on local listings via Google Maps in you receive call from any unknown number.
Priority contact: Based on the most frequently used contacts in your device, this feature offers a more easy interface to navigate through your contacts.
Immersive Display: A new feature that you would have never heard of! The immersive display makes entertainment experience on your device more exciting. The Status Bar and the Navigation Buttons will disappear once you listen to music, play games or read any e-books. A small flick on the screen will get you back to your utility buttons. Just get immersed in the fun.
New Message Grouping and Emoji Characters: Google in its KitKat 4.4 has enhanced its Hangouts app where users will get all their text messages, MMS, audio and video call details just at one place. They can also share locations and animated GIFs as well.
This time Google has also introduced Japanese emoji characters in its in-built messaging app. Thus you need not install any third party app to express yourself.
Voice Search: Here Google will offer a voice search in web through its “Ok Google” feature. Thus users can all the information at a reduced effort of even touching their smartphone screen.
NFC and Wireless printers: With this feature, you can save all your documents in the QuickOffice and get them printed wirelessly on NFC enabled HP printers.
Multitasking and Performance: This OS will make an efficient use of the phone memory making multitasking very easy. You can simultaneously operate multiple apps at a time.
Smartphones will also perform much better with increased battery life to your phone.
