Sony Xperia Z1 Compact : Hands-on Review

This Monday at the CES expo 2014, we heard an official word from Sony for the much awaited Sony Xperia Z1compact, wherein it packs the same super-built hardware alike the flagship Xperia Z1. Let us take a tour through this device.

The Xperia Z1 Compact features the same conventional glossy design as that of other Xperia Lineup devices. The handset is quite prone to get finger-prints on its body, but the glossy design allows a quick clean up of the device. The Xperia Z1 Compact is slight bulkier than the parent flagship Xperia Z1, where the Z1 Compact measures to 9.5mm thickness. But with just 140 gms of weight, the 4” device feels quite light-enough on hands.

Additionally, the Xperia Z1 Compact is resistant to water, scratches and dust. The device is available if four colors of black, white, pink and yellow.

The 4.3” screen flashes with some good 1280×720 pixel resolution. However, even-though not as impressive as the Xperia Z1, the screen serves for good vibrant colors and image details. Moreover, with the IPS technology placed on the surface, we get some good viewing angles on the device.

The hardware of Xperia Z1 Compact is something that we usually don’t see in its equivalent-sized smartphones. Its core consists of a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM. The Z1 Compact offers a 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot with 64GB of expandable memory capacity. Users will also get an LTE support on-board.

For the date, the Xperia Z1 Compact offers a Android 4.3 Jelly Bean interface, but Sony has promised that the device will soon get the Android KitKat 4.4! Here Sony has kept the UI to themselves. Moreover it’s an icing-on-the-cake for PS4 owners as well, as Sony has also announced the presence of Walkman and PS4’s companion appss on the device.

The camera is what the device is much famous for as its sports a whopping 20.7MP rear camera with Exmor sensors and Sony’s G Lens. Your photography experience with the device is just going much more enhanced and exiting, bringing in the most natural colors of life on the 4.3” screen.
