Sony Xperia Z Ultra Wi-Fi-only version launched in Japan

Earlier we had spotted that the 6 inch phablet from Sony-The Xperia Z Ultra would come with a Wi-Fi only version and now its official! The 6-inch phablet has been officially declared by Sony for launch in its home country.

The Wi-Fi only version would have an added advantage for those who want to use their device only for media consumption and would certainly offer better portability than the 7 inch tablet. Moreover on removing cellular connectivity, the cost of the device would be reduced to a price tag of somewhere $500.

The Xperia Z Ultra offers a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 1080p display, 2GB RAM, water-proof body, 8 megapixel camera, 3050 mAh battery, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean installed with a available upgrade to Android 4.3/4.4 in coming months.

Well, we have yet to hear an official word from Sony for the global launch.
