Sony announces mid-ranger Xperia M2 with a quad-core processor


Today at MWC 2014, Barcelona, Sony has went announcing a mid-range smartphone Xperia M2 with high-end specs. The Xperia M2 sports a 4.8” TFT display with 960×540 pixel resolution. Its computing brain is a quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset clocking at 1.2GHz along with an Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB RAM. The device has 8GB internal storage with a microSD support. The device has an 8MP camera with Sony’s much famous Exmor RS sensor. It consists of a single LED flash with a capacity of recording videos @1080p.

Sony offers various connectivity options like GPS with GLONASS, HSPA, NFC, 3G, Wi-Fi with DLNA, Bluetooth and FM radio. Xperia M2 will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Sony is believed to upgrade it to KitKat 4.4 soon .

The connectivity department of the Sony Xperia M2 offers 3G with HSPA, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, Wi-Fi with DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 and FM radio.

Sony Xperia M2 runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but there is nothing mentioned on an upcoming update. Hopefully, Sony will treat it with KitKat soon after launch. It will hit the shelves globally worldwide.
