The next Xperia Z3 Tablet likely to get a JDI display with 4K2K LCD module


Reports show that JDI (Japanese Display Inc) is currently working on a 10.1” LCD module that comes with ultra-hign 4K2K resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and  the samples for it have already started to get shipped. Earlier both the 10.1” Xperia tablets i.e the Xperia Z and the Xperia Z2 to be having WUXGA display with 1920×1200 pixel resolution and 224ppi density and it is likely that the next Xperia Tablet is likely to host this JDI display.


The new JDI display uses a LTPS (low-temperature poly silicon) technology which consumes less power along with features like low profile and narrow dead-band. The 4K2K display even though having high capacity consumes less power just equal to the WQXGA LCD display.

Sony is famous for sporting ultra clear resolution displays in its tech devices and the company has shown its strength with 4K formats introduced by Sony in cameras, phones, TVs. This strongly indicates that the company might introduce this JDI display in its next Xperia Tablets.
