Jolla’s Sailfish launcher demonstrated on the Sony Xperia Z

Jolla’s is these days extensively trying to make its mark in the mobile OS platform and its Sailfish OS has been quite in news. This OS is however at the moment available of Jolla phones and the launcher is soon expected to be transplanted to Android thereby giving a glimpse of how the mobile UI should be like.

We can call its UI to be mostly a gesture based UI wherein the lockscreen, homescreen and app drawer are just vertically scrollable pages and just a swipe from left is needed to switch from an app to homescreen. The Menu Key has been replaced with a clever pull down menu from the top. Here is a video showing up the beta version of the Sailfish launcher running on Sony’s premium flagship Xperia Z. At the moment, there still exist a few bugs and the developers are working hard to solve all the matters before they bring it to the Play Store ahead this month.
