Interview with the actress from the W705′s commercial

Today I want to present you the second interview on SEMC Blog. This is the interview with Elena Sanchez – the actress from the W705‘s commercial. Elena Sanchez is American actress, who have been played in some TV-commercials, including the W705‘s commercial. Elena is very pretty, fun and honest girl. She loves listent to the music and, of course, she loves the new W705. Elena is very talanted and hardworking lady. Today she combine two things: studying acting and working. Q: Hello, Elena! Let’s start from the questions from your biography. Can you tell me please, where were you born?
I was born in Germany. My mother is German and my father is Spanish.

Q: Where did you grow up?
I left Germany when I was 3 to move to New York, then when I was 12 we moved to Switzerland, until I finished high school. I came back to the U.S. then, and have been here ever since.

Q: In what city do you currently live and work?
I currently live and work in New York City.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?
Up until now I haven’t had a lot of free time because I have been studying acting and working at the same time – but other than that I like to read, I like to stay in shape (I did gymnastics for 19 years) and of course, go to the movies!

Q: Which cuisine do you like?
Ooooh, I could talk about food forever! I like everything – Spanish, German, Mexican, Italian, Indian, Japanese, Thai! I guess I forgot to mention that one of my favorite hobbies is eating! Luckily I have a lot of international friends who enjoy food as much as I do.

Q: What is your favorite time of the year and what weather do you prefer?
I like spring and fall – it’s not too cold and not too warm.

Q: Can you describe yourself in five key words?
That’s a hard question, sounds like something I would get in a job interview! Let’s see – fun, hardworking, honest, stubborn, and athletic.

Q: Why did you became an actress? Where did you study?
I studied hotel management in college. During my last year I took two acting classes and fell in love with it. When I came to New York I enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute and have been studying there for the past couple of months.

Q: In what types of art do you work?
Besides commercials, I want to mainly get into movies and TV. Currently I am looking for some small roles in the shows/films that are shot here in New York…

Q: In what TV-commercials can we see you, beside the W705′s commercial?
The W705 was my first major TV commercial… I was in the background in a few other ones – a fast food company and a japanese commercial, for example.

Q: Do you like the Sony Ericsson W705? I like the W705 a lot. As you can see from the commercial, I was holding it the entire time so I actually spent many hours holding the phone and with the headphones in my ears. It feels nice in your hand and is very light. Q: What colour of W705 do you like the most and why? I prefer Luxury Silver – the one that can be seen in the commercial. It goes well with everything and whatever clothes you are wearing or whatever handbag you have. The red is nice too though – but it stands out a lot more. Q: What is your favourite feature of the W705? My favorite feature is definitely the music player and the design. Music is a large part of my life and to have a great player integrated into your phone makes it a lot easier. I love the design of the phone because it’s small, but it still has a large screen and opens up to make it easier to use the number keypad. Also, the design was made that you can do everything with one hand. Q: How important is music in your life? Does it inspire you? Like I said – music is very important! It inspires me in a lot of different ways. I listen to music when I go to the gym, when I want to relax, when I am organizing my closet, when I am dancing with friends, or when I am dancing alone in my room and noone is watching, haha!

Q: How do you know about the commercial of the W705. Your friends or your agent told you about it?
I found out about the commercial through the Internet. I submitted myself and was called in for two auditions for it.

Q: Where was created the W705′s commercial? And during what time it was created?
The commercial was made in Mexico, which was great, because I also speak Spanish, and we got to eat a lot of Mexican food! It was made in 2 days, and we also had one day of training and rehearsal.

Q: Can you tell me please some words about the director of the W705′s commercial?
The director of the commercial was great. He is very creative and was wonderful to work with, and he was very patient with us. The entire crew was amazing and I’d like to thank them for making it such a great experience!

Q: The commercial of the W705 has very interesting idea. Do you like it?
I love the idea of the commercial, right from the first time I was shown the story board, I thought it was great! I was very excited to make it.

Q: In some scenes you heroine should fly in the air. These scenes were hard for you? Were on the shooting place some stunt men?
The scenes were very physical but that’s why I was chosen – I’m very athletic. It was hard sometimes but I’m a hard worker and I enjoyed every minute of it. Every actor on set had some kind of special athletic ability or experience with stunts. I did have a double but he didn’t need to do a lot because I was able to. Most of the movements were captured with special cameras or while we were on trampolines or in harnesses – which I have a lot of experience with because of gymnastics.

Q: Do you remember some funny moments on the shooting place? What funny moment was the best?
Now it’s funny – but before it wasn’t! There was a moment when we almost got sick from being upside down so much. Almost like if you go on a really fast roller coaster! We had to take a break and sit down for a minute, have some water and bread. Then we felt better and kept going

Q: On the W705′s commercial your heroine has the beautiful French name Dominique. Do you like this name?
I like this name! It’s actually funny because when I was in middle school I was learning French and we had to choose a French name for ourselves. I chose Monique, which is somewhat similar to Dominique, and that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw it.

Q: Are you satisfied with your work on the commercial of the W705?
I’m satisfied with my work but like everything in my life, I always think I could do better.

Q: Now do you working on some new projects?
I’m currently looking at different agents, especially for film and TV, and always looking for new and interesting roles.
