Today Sony Ericsson (or I can say just Sony) announced it’s new Android-based phone Xperia™ S also known as Nozomi LT26i. As you can see from PR-images the new device has “Sony” logotype on the front, while on old prototype devices we still can clearly see “Sony Ericsson” logo.

Xperia™ S has 4.3″ 16, 000,000 colour TFT 1280×720 pixels touchscreen, a 12 megapixel camera with Sony Exmor R™ sensor featuring 1080p video recording.

Xperia S™ will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor (MSM8260 chipset) and 32GB of internal memory. The phone support Android 2.3 at launch. Upgrade to Android 4.0 will be possible in 2nd half of 2012.

Xperia™ S weighs 144 grams and sizes 128 x 64 x 10.6 mm. The phone will be availble from 2nd quater 2012 in two colours: Black and Silver.

Xperia Blog received some pics of what is to be believed as a new Xperia™ device code-named Pepper with the model number MT27i. Rumor suggest it is the successor to the Xperia™ neo. It does have a odd design but its chin follows design que of Nozomi (See Here).

1. 1GHz dual-core processor (most likely ST-Ericsson NoveThor U8500 chipset)
2. 3.7-inch (480 x 854 resolution) display
3. 5MP camera
4. Shoot 720p video

More leaked pictures of Sony Ericsson Nozomi (LT26i) showed up in the past week sporting a black color detailing. First off we would like to apologize to our followers for the scarce news and rumors lately. Now back to the leaked pics, in the pic below with the screen on we see a customized UI most likely of Android OS version 2.3.5. Further inspection of the device itself there seems to be three capacitive buttons above the thin white strip (Notification LED); Note the three illuminated dots.

The second picture below might be some kind of model (wood etc.) as the source states it might be such or an actual prototype. There have been some pictures circulating that are concepts which some sites have reported them as actual phones from se. Despite this it looks like a real model and none the less very similar to recent leak pictures of Nozomi including the one above. For more info regarding specs, check out our post Nozomi Leak.

Sony Ericsson announced today that it will update all 2011 Xperia™ models to Gingerbread 2.3.4 in October. This update will start to roll out in select markets in October. Update will be in phased as with previous one’s. Once available owners will get a notification in phone instructing them to instantaneously download the software over the air via 3G or WiFi. The update can also be done through Sony Ericsson’s PC Companion software.

Overview of Features:

1. Google Talk with Video Chat for smartphones with front-facing cameras
2. Updated Facebook inside Xperia™ functionality for enhanced like, share and discover abilities.
3. Xperia™ smartphones introducing world’s first 3D sweep panorama functionality powered by Sony.

Today Sony Ericsson announce it’s new mobile phone called Live with Walkman™ previously known as WT19i. You can call the new Live with Walkman™ a Walkman-based version of Xperia™ mini. Live with Walkman™ basically have the same features but it is more thick than Xperia™ mini and provide more music features inlude Walkman™ player and stereospeakers as well as the new xLoud™ technology, TrackID™ etc.

The new phone features 3.2″ 16M colour 320×480 pixels multi-touch TFT screen, a 5.0 megapixel camera with autofocus and 720p video recording and a front-facing camera for Skype video calling.

The new Live with Walkman™ is based on 1 GHz processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform (probably version 2.3.4 after release). All these features are packed in 14.2 mm slim body with weight about 115 gramms. Sony Ericsson WT19i will be released in selected markets in Q4, 2011 in two nice colours: Black and White.

Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc leaked in the new pretty nice white colour. Yet there is no information when the new colour will be available.

As you may know, Xperia™ arc previously known as Anzu, is powerfully slim handset which runs Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and features features 4.2? multi-touch 854×480 pixels capacitive touchscreen, a 8.1 megapixel camera with AF and Exmor R technology, 3.5mm audio jack and HDMI-out. All these features are packed in 8.8 mm slim body. Xperia™ arc already available in Misty Silver and Midnight Blue colours.

Sony Ericsson released the new Home Launcher for it’s Xperia™ smartphones. As you can see the new Home Launcher includes some new features like a button on the bottom right that allows you to uninstall apps directly. As of friday July 29th, Sony Ericsson began rolling out Gingerbread update to generic kits of Xperia™  X10.  Over the coming weeks the update should be gradually reaching everyone with a generic trade kit. Note not everyone one will get this update. As stated by Mattias Holm of Sony Ericsson’s Product Launch Blog, “Even if there will be some operator kits getting this upgrade – some of you will not be able to upgrade your customized version of Xperia™ X10.” The rollout is phased and the upgrade can only be installed via computer using Sony Ericsson’s Pc Companion software.
