Sony Ericsson phones now support Memory Stick Micro™ M2™ cards up to 16GB. This info you can find on W508 specifications page. But not only W508 will support M2™ cards up to 16GB. Other Sony Ericsson phones also should work faster with memory cards up to 16GB. The one bad side of 16GB cards is too high price.
